We are committed to student wellness by providing access to free, confidential resources. Stay Smart Kits offer students safer sex supplies and wellness items in a discreet, judgment-free way to help support informed and healthy choices.

What Are Stay Smart Kits?

Stay Smart Kits are free safer sex kits available to students. Each kit includes supplies and resources to support sexual health, privacy, and well-being. Whether you need protection, hygiene essentials, or access to educational resources, Stay Smart Kits provide convenient access to resources that support your health and wellness.

What’s Inside Each Kit?

  • 4 regular condoms (non-latex condoms are available upon request through the online form due to limited supply)
  • 2 flavored condoms (Use ONLY for oral sex: do not use for anal or vaginal sex)
  • 1 FC2 Female Condom® (internal condom)
  • 1 Clinical Guard Pregnancy Urine Test Strip (available only upon request through the online form due to limited supply)
  • 1 flavored dental dam
  • 1 lubricant pack
  • 1 sanitizing hand wipe
  • 1 body cleansing wipe
  • A sheet of sexual health resources
  • A QR code linking to a confidential student survey

Stay Smart Kits are available at the following locations. There is no need to ask—just take one! Our goal is to ensure easy access while maintaining your privacy.

  • Rockville:

  • Germantown:
    • Counseling & Advising (SA 250)

    • Restrooms of the SA building
  • Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TPSS):

Discreet Options Available

Our kits are packaged in plain 6" x 9" brown envelopes for discretion. If you require a different fit, look for kits marked with a small black dot, which discreetly indicate an alternative size option.

Need sexual health supplies but can’t make it to campus? Stay Smart Kits are available by mail for currently enrolled MC students. Students can request a full kit or select only the items they need. Kits are mailed in plain, unmarked packaging to help protect your privacy.

Plan B

Emergency Contraception.

Emergency Contraception–Free and Accessible to You!

MC now offers free Plan B (emergency contraception)to currently enrolled students through our confidential request form. *Note: This is NOT about your sex life. It’s about making sure you have access when you need it most.

What is Plan B?

Plan B is a morning-after pill that helps prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours after unprotected sex or birth control failure (like a condom breaking).

Important Timing for Plan B: Plan B is most effective within 72 hours (3 days)after unprotected sex or birth control failure.

While you can request Plan B online and receive it by mail, please know that delivery takes time. For the quickest access, consider picking it up in person from the Student Wellness Center.

The choice is yours but remember, sooner is better for effectiveness.

  • Works best the sooner it’s taken
  • Does not end an existing pregnancy
  • Will not impact your future fertility
  • Can be taken regardless of your gender identity

What is Opill?

  • Opill is a daily progestin-only birth control pill that’s now available over the counter. A three-month supply is provided for each request.
  • Take one pill at the same time every day

Carafem new window – Abortion and Sexual Healthcare
Carafem is a national non-profit providing abortion and sexual healthcare via telehealth and at its Friendship Heights health center in Washington, DC.

Services include:

  • In-person procedural and medication abortion
  • Telehealth medication abortion and abortion pills by mail
  • STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) testing and treatment
  • Ultrasounds and birth control services
  • Abortion follow-up care (even if abortion was not through Carafem)
  • 24/7 abortion support via text with their virtual assistant, Cara

Why Carafem may work well for MC students:

  • Easy transportation: Friendship Heights center is located on the Metro Red Line and multiple bus routes.
  • Privacy: Discreet location in a medical office building with minimal to no protesting.
  • Language access: Translation available in Spanish, Amharic, ASL, and more.>
  • Financial help: Abortion fund support available; most students without salaried income will qualify.
  • Coverage: Maryland Medicaid fully covers abortion services.

Transportation from MC campuses to Friendship Heights:
